Topic(s):

David Taylor, founder of PCI Knowledge Base, died suddenly Tuesday of a heart attack. The staff of CSO Magazine valued his input greatly over the years. He was often there in a pinch to help us make sense of the latest twists and turns of PCI DSS.

He had 30 years of experience in information technology, specifically in data security, applications and E-Commerce. He spent 14 years at Gartner and gave well over 500 presentations in more than 30 countries. Last year, he spoke at our PCI Security Seminar in New York.

He also authored the book "Doing E-Business" (Wiley, 2000).

Other steps in his career included a stint as VP, data security strategies for Protegrity, co-founder and chief researcher for TheInfoPro, and district manager at AT&T Bell Laboratories/AT&T Technologies.
His family is requesting that donations be made in his name to the American Heart Association. A private memorial service will be held in New York.
